About KarrieAnn

I live with my husband, four children, dog, and horse in Mobile, Alabama. We love living so close to the beach and celebrating Mardi Gras every year in its birthplace! When I’m not shuffling the kids back and forth to school and different activities, I ride and train horses as well as teach horseback lessons. I also enjoy baking, decorating cakes, sewing, and crafting.

My journey to surrogacy started before we had any children. Unfortunately, my very first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. There was no concrete reason as to why, as is the case with so many other pregnancies. While going through the emotions and appointments involved with the loss, I considered for the very first time that starting a family may not come quite so easily, and imagined that fertility, surrogacy, or even adoption might be necessary in our future in order to start a family.

I am extremely blessed to have had five easy, healthy pregnancies following that loss. It never seemed fair that others struggle so hard to create a family like the one I get to enjoy every single day. When we finished having children, I immediately searched out an agency, even before my final baby had weaned. Family Source Consultants was amazing and helped me though every step of the process. We matched with an absolutely perfect couple and had the most incredible (albeit long) journey I could ask for. Seeing the parents hold their baby is an emotion I cannot even describe. I feel so blessed to have played such a small part in making their dreams of having a family come true. Surrogacy has been one of the greatest experiences of my life and I will forever treasure the memories and lifelong friendships formed during that time.

Staci Swiderski, CEO and owner of Family Source Consultants has been involved in the field of reproductive medicine since 2002. Staci has vigorously grown the comprehensive egg donation and gestational surrogacy agency to become a worldwide leader in the third-party reproduction field. Staci is a former intended parent herself. She and her husband welcomed their son via gestational surrogacy in 2005. Additionally, Staci had the experience of assisting an infertile couple (AKA Recipient Parents) build their family through her efforts as an egg donor, with her donation resulting in the births of their son and daughter.
