I live in the Twin Cities (MN).  My husband Ben and I have been married for almost 13 years and we have 3 beautiful boys, Lucas who will be 9 in August, and twins, Dylan & Bradley, who will be 6 in July.  I work full time for a Medical Device company as a Medical Education Program Manager, I’m very active in my Mothers of Multiples group, and I am an Independent Distributor with Young Living Essential Oils.  I love to keep busy and spend time with my family.   

I also LOVE being pregnant!  Our family is complete, but I had a strong desire to be a surrogate for many years.  As a member of a multiples group, you meet people from all walks of life who have traveled so many different (and difficult) paths to get their children.  My husband and I were incredibly lucky and my pregnancies were very smooth and uneventful.  It took some convincing of my husband, but he agreed to support me 100% as I started my journey through FSC.  My surrogacy journey was text-book.  Incredibly efficient, smooth, and wonderful.  I was matched with IPs from a different area of the country, but we created an amazing bond through visiting each other and chatting regularly.  I carried their beautiful baby boy to full term and he was perfect.  He is now 4 months old and happy as can be.  Helping to create this family was incredible.  It was everything I dreamed it would be. It was emotional and overwhelming and exhausting – but I wouldn’t have changed one little thing.  The moment the baby was born and placed into his mom’s arms, everything was right with the world.  Watching mom & dad gaze into baby’s eyes and hold him tight???  It almost made me forget about the fact that I had just labored a baby ;)  Even my husband was surprised at how amazing it was to watch them embrace that sweet baby and become parents before our eyes.  There are no words. 

I heard a quote the week I started this journey: ‘There are a million ways to do it right.’  To those who have always wanted a family and aren’t able to create one in the ‘traditional’ way – there are other ways.  And they’re all RIGHT.  Right for you. Right for right now. Right for the situation you’re in. And as a surrogate, I’m just honored to be a part of that.
