FSC has become also part of our extended family overseas. They embraced us from the very beginning and they took amazing care of us. Without them, our life would have been so different. We are forever thankful to FSC and of course, to our beloved surrogate.
As part of our 15th Anniversary celebration, we are following up with some of our wonderful FSC Families.
We first met A&A in 2014, when they reached out to us for information about our international surrogacy program. Though they live in the Netherlands, their relationship with their surrogate remains close to this day. We were so happy they were able to give us an update on how they’re doing!
1. How did you first hear about surrogacy?
We heard about surrogacy and FSC through the experience of close friends to us, also a gay couple, who had a beautiful daughter thanks to the help of FSC and a generous loving surrogate.
2. How did you tell friends and family and how did they react?
Our families knew since long ago of our wish for a child. Both of us come from very loving families and our family bonds are extremely important. Our families were extremely happy when we knew that we were going to go through the path of surrogacy to make our dream come true.
3. What was your relationship like with your surrogate? What is it like now?
K. our surrogate, is our dear angel. And not only her, but also her whole family, now also our family. Even her relatives and friends are also now our friends. We have a close relationship with our surrogate and her family. She is an essential part of our lives as she made our dream possible. [Video of Surrogate K’s pregnancy]
4. What was your favorite memory of your surrogacy journey?
So many amazing memories and highlights: the positive pregnancy test, the positive beta, the first [sonogram], and the heartbeats, TWO of them! We had twins! And of course, the birth. The end of the pregnancy and the beginning of our new life.
5. Do you have any advice for intended parents who are just starting out?
Be patient, persist as you will succeed, you will face many ups but also some downs…. it’s ok, it’s all part of the journey.
