Meet Andrea!

Andrea D is a 3x surrogate who completed her last journey with FSC and delivered twin boys in January 2023!

Q: What led you to become a Surrogate?

I was moved to be a surrogate when I saw how easy it was for me to have my children and I saw my friends struggling. I knew something had to be done to make at least a few families as happy as I am with my children. It doesn’t disappoint. To see their faces and the end result is a forever gift. It is so bitter sweet that this is my last journey. In a way I feel I am retiring but I am hoping so many more people follow in my footsteps and make forever families.

Q. Who was the most significant support person throughout your journey?

I have had a whole tribe through out this whole process but I really want to thank my case manager Didi. She has gone over and beyond through this whole process. I could not have asked for a better person to help lead us.

Q. What made you decide to choose your Intended Parents?

The intended parents are amazing and in life things that are meant to be will happen. We were supposed to be in this all together. They are such a wonderful amazing set of parents. I am so happy they choose me.

Q. What are some of the highlights of your journey?

The highlight was waking up everyday excited for what was next. When I saw the boys it made my world! They are amazing and beautiful. I am so thankful for this experience.

Q. Do you have advice for women who are interested in becoming a gestational surrogate?

Please do it. You can change the world one family at a time.it will change your whole perspective on life. The selflessness and time is all it takes.

Q. How do you feel about your experience working with Family Source Consultants?

Very honestly Family Source Consultants was by far the easiest company to work with. I have used other companies in the past but if I were to do it all over again I would have uses them all 3 times. Thank you for making it easy and all the support

Q. What did you find was the biggest misconception people had about surrogacy?

There are so many misconceptions out there. I have never thought of these but when I explained to people I was a surrogate there were always so many questions. I loved making sure people understand where I am coming from. There should be more education about this field.

Q. What would you like other people to know about surrogacy?

I want them to know that whatever people are going through fertility wise there are options and surrogacy is a fantastic option.

Q. What was the funniest/strangest/most common question you were asked as a surrogate? How did you answer?

The first question is always. How can you give up a baby? I’d feel so attached. I explain that from the beginning you know you are dicing a gift to a family. That I want them to be as happy as I am with my children. That I do love these babies and care for them but I am not attached to them. Then I explain the science behind the embryo .

Q. How has becoming a surrogate impacted your life?

It has changed my whole perspective. My children and I love this and bond over it as well. I was nervous at first how this would effect my kids. They are amazing humans with such kind hearts. They want others to be happy as well. The fact that they can understand what I wanted to do for another family makes me feel I have done something right in raising them. :)

Q. Was this pregnancy different than your other pregnancies? If so, how?

Yes! Twins are very different. It was a lot harder on my body. I am not sure knowing what I do now I would ever do twins again but I do not regret bringing these boys here!

Q. How did you prepare yourself for separating from the baby after birth?

I had no problem with this. I find knowing and understanding the family makes you feel you are doing the right thing.

Q. What would you like someone who is considering working with a surrogate to know?

Always be patient and kind. I don’t think a lot of people see the side of the surrogate where it takes a lot of time away from their family and work responsibility as well as how it can effect their body and health.

Q. Is there anything else you’d like to share with us regarding your experience as a Surrogate?
I am so happy for Svet and Jenny!
