Marissa is an amazing two-time surrogate that delivered an adorable baby girl for our intended parents in June of this year and expected to deliver a healthy boy next year!
Q: What led you to become a Surrogate?
I did not want any more children after I had my son and have a perfectly healthy body! I want to help people experience the love that I have for my son.
Q. Who was the most significant support person throughout your journey?
My mom 10000000% my husband is a great one to but my mom is super involved!!
Q. What made you decide to choose your Intended Parents?
We have a lot of the same values big families and have a great family dynamic .
Q. What are some of the highlights of your journey?
Both journeys have been amazing. I really don’t have a specific highlight. No journey is the same each on is different in its own special way.
Q. Do you have advice for women who are interested in becoming a gestational surrogate?
DO IT!! You will not regret it. The moment the intended parent takes over you feel so complete. It’s an amazing feeling
Q. How do you feel about your experience working with Family Source Consultants?
I’m already ready for journey 3!!! And my case coordinator is the queen herself, Didi!!
Q. What did you find was the biggest misconception people had about surrogacy?
Oh it’s so easy all you do is have a baby. It’s so much more than that . We have meds and appointments and a lot to do to even get the to the point of getting pregnant. Surrogacy definitely teaches you patience
Q. What was the funniest/strangest/most common question you were asked and how did you answer?
So the baby isn’t related to you ? My response is always the same I’m Just a walking incubator.
Q. How has becoming a surrogate impacted your life?
It’s definitely impacted my life in a positive way.
Q. How did you prepare yourself for separating from the baby after birth?
I didn’t really have to prepare myself I go into this knowing already what the goal is here. I care for the baby but I don’t have a connection if that makes sense. They have all the love waiting for them the second the come out. And that is the most special part seeing them handed over and taken with their parent/parents the emotions in the room is next level ( in a good way).
Q. Was this pregnancy different than your other pregnancies? If so, how?
Last pregnancy was rough. I definitely do better carrying boys then girls! 😂
Q. What would you like someone who is considering working with a surrogate to know?
Do your homework know what you’re signing up for. Read into it ask questions.
Q. Is there anything else you’d like to share with us regarding your experience as a Surrogate?
It’s been amazing . I love my family and my surro sisters !
