We are honored to have been along for THREE surrogacy journeys with Parents J&B. It’s been a joy to watch them grow from a happy couple into a loving family of SIX!
J. was born with a rare genetic disorder called Holt-Oram syndrome which is an autosomal dominant disorder that causes heart defects and affects bones in the upper limbs. As a child, she underwent multiple heart surgeries and hand reconstructions and as an adult, lives with a permanent pacemaker.
The knowledge that pregnancy would be extremely high risk for J. and concerns of passing the disorder on to their children led J&B to choose egg donation and surrogacy to build their family.
Family Source was thrilled to match them with Surrogate Sam, who gave birth to their first daughter G. in 2013. Though Sam would have loved to carry a sibling for J&B, she was unable to due to medical reasons, so a search began for another wonderful Surrogate for J&B.
In 2014, J&B were matched with another amazing Surrogate, Nicki, and in 2015 their second daughter E. was born. J. says that Sam and Nicki will “forever be a part of our lives.”
When G&E were 3-1/2 years old and 1 year old, J&B had the desire to complete their family with another surrogacy journey. Unfortunately, Surrogate Nicki was not able to begin another journey at that time, so J&B again turned to Family Source for the perfect match!
In 2017, Surrogate Jaime and J&B began their journey together. J&B were soon excited to learn they would be adding two more to their family of four! Boy/girl twins, A&A, were born in March 2018, turning this family of four into a family of SIX!
J. says “I’m always very glad to speak with other intended mothers or people who are considering surrogacy because I want to tell them that though the waiting seems unending, it will all be worth it when you hold that sweet little baby in your arms. And you know…in that moment that this was the way you were meant to become a parent.”
It’s been a pleasure to have worked with J&B, as well as with their Surrogates Sam, Nicki and Jaime, in their family building endeavors! We hope you enjoy following their journey as much as we’ve enjoyed being a part of it.
