I donated because I figured I’d help a family have what they always dreamed of but couldn’t achieve. Being able to help someone make their dreams come true is an amazing feeling. I would donate again in a heartbeat!
My biggest supporter during this time was my boyfriend, “J”. He’s so supportive and was there the whole step of the way.
I decided to give the intended parents the choice to allow me to be either open, semi open or whichever they chose. I gave them this opportunity or choice because the retrieval is for them, and whatever makes them comfortable made me feel the same way.
If you decide to donate, I back you up 100% because of the great experience. The staff was great, the doctors too. The only advice to possible donors would be to be grateful to be able to help someone.
