Meet J!

“I’m really grateful I chose FSC to guide me in my egg donation journey! I feel as though everyone I’ve come into contact with has been very supportive and attentive to my concerns. My case managers have been great at following up with me, and I genuinely feel valued at FSC. “

Q. What led you to become an Egg Donor?

I had first heard of egg donation a few years ago but did not know much about the process. I’ve been a nanny for over 6 years now and learned from parents about the difficulties in starting a family. Hearing about others’ troubles, I was interested in learning more about how I could help other families through the process of egg donation!

Q. Who was your largest support person(s) throughout your journey?

While completing my first cycle, I found a group of current and previous donors that helped me in every way possible. Although my friends and family played a vital role, there was something especially helpful in talking to others that have been in the same position.

Q. What made you decide to be closed/semi-open/open with your intended parents?

While I love the idea of an open donation, I didn’t want to take any of these options away from the intended parents. I respect the Intended Parents’ efforts in starting their own family, and would hate to add another obstacle for them. Therefore I decided I wanted to be available for any type of donation they see best fit.

Q. Do you have any advice for women who are interested in becoming an Egg Donor?

Ask a lot of questions! There will likely be some concerns that arise and it’s important to address those concerns to make sure you are making an informed decision. Talk to other donors about their experiences and use them as a resource!
