Meet Egg Donor S!

“I had very helpful case workers throughout this process that were there for everything. Susie was great about talking me through every step and making sure everything was set up and on time. Joy filled in for Susie during the retrieval and was answering my questions late at night and was extremely helpful at calming my nerves. I’m very thankful for both of them.”

What led you to become an Egg Donor?

I was done having children of my own and felt the need to help other families who were unable to produce on their own. Having a family is my entire world so being able to help another person achieve that goal means a lot to me.

Who offered the most support throughout your journey?

My husband. He was there for every single phone call, appointment, emotion, and confusion. He stood by my side throughout the entire process and made sure everything went the way it was supposed to. I couldn’t have gone through all of this without him by my side.

How did you choose which type of egg donation you’d like (closed/semi-open/open)? Why did you choose this type?

I chose to let the recipient parents decide how they wanted the donation to be. Personally, I was fine with however they decided to proceed since it is ultimately their child in the making.

What advice would you offer to someone who is interested in becoming an egg donor?

Don’t expect this to go smoothly or quickly. There will be hills, bumps, and turns along the way, but it all works out in the end. Always remember you are doing this to help someone else. It’s not being done for you.

Do you know the outcome of your donation? How do you feel about the outcome?

I do not know the outcome.
