Q: What led you to become a Surrogate?

I have always enjoyed my pregnancies. I’m good friends with Zara (a Family Source Consultants Co-Founder), and she told me about surrogacy and FSC.

When my husband and I discussed pursuing surrogacy, we ultimately decided it was worth doing.

Q. Who was your biggest support person/s throughout your journey?

Without a doubt, it was these six people: My husband, my four daughters, and my best friend Kelly, the last of whom went through IVF herself. All of them were very supportive of me before, during, and after my journey.

Q. What made you decide to choose your Intended Parents?

We did not have any restrictions on who we wanted to work with. Zara chose Intended Parents based on who she thought would be a good fit for us, and we knew during our match meeting, that they were the ones. Knowing that we’ll stay in touch makes a difference.

Q. What are some of the highlights of your journey?

Meeting my Intended Parents for the first time, seeing positive betas (blood tests), and being at the hospital the day I gave birth, were all very fond memories of my journey.

Ultimately, being a surrogates was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done in my life. It was a wonderful learning experience for my children, too. We will forever have an extended family in Spain.

Q. Do you have advice for women who are interested in becoming a gestational surrogate?

My best piece of advice is to definitely work with an agency. They made everything flow seamlessly, ensuring the process was easy on everyone.

Also, I recommend dedicating time to considering what you’re looking for in your Intended Parents. Being yourself and helping a family that accepts you is an amazing feeling.
