Meet V!

“Family Source Consultants is a fantastic agency. I had no idea what to expect since it was my first time donating, but I never once felt alone, which was very reassuring. Every single step of the way, there was someone there to check on me and see how my appointments went. Even though my retrieval was really recent, Family Source Consultants made the process run so smoothly that I’m already ready to donate again.”

What led you to become an Egg Donor?

When I was 22, I was told that I would be unable to conceive my own child. At the time I wasn’t ready for a family, but I felt like my entire future had been stolen away. However, five years later, I experienced a miracle, and conceived my now three-year-old baby girl.

While I’ve been quite fortunate, many of my friends and family members still suffer from fertility problems. Since I now have the ability to help others achieve their dreams of starting a family, there is absolutely no way that I could turn that privilege down.

Who was your largest support person(s) throughout your journey?

My husband was by far my biggest supporter through my donation journey. He never once complained about the process, my treatments, or their respective side effects. Honestly, he understands how important egg donation is to me, and has shown unwavering encouragement.

What made you decide to be anonymous with your Intended Parents?

Initially, I was open to any of the available options: anonymity, semi-openness, or complete openness. However, I matched with Intended Parents who preferred anonymity, which I respected 100%.

In fact, since this was my first time donating, I actually felt more comfortable with the anonymity. There is no right or wrong decision here, but in the future, I hope to experience a semi-open or open experience to be able to connect with the Intended Parent(s).

Do you have advice for women who are interested in becoming an Egg Donor?

Having a family is a true gift that many couples (or individuals) can’t have without the help of egg donors. Giving the gift of life, of helping start a family, is one of the greatest gifts you can offer. If you are capable, you should do it; you won’t regret it.
