Meet Cassandra!

“FSC has been there every step — from  intake, matching, appointments, pregnancy, delivery and even after that. I had a great case worker who was supportive and helpful. I had a very smooth journey and would easily recommend FSC.”

Q: What led you to become a Surrogate?

I’ve watched many of my friends and family struggle with infertility. I couldn’t imagine my life without my 2 boys. I have had healthy and easy pregnancies and I wanted to help others experience how wonderful parenthood is.

Q. Who was/is your greatest support person/s throughout your journey?

My largest support person is my husband and my mom. They helped with everything from babysitting for my appointments, housework and even helped with the injections/medications and late-night runs to the store for random food cravings.  They were with me every step from signing up with FSC to after delivery.

Q. What made you decide to choose your Intended Parents?

One of the most important things about surrogacy is the matching process. I knew I wanted to be matched with nice trustworthy caring people that wanted to be involved throughout the pregnancy and I felt comfortable with.

Q. What are some of the highlights of your journey?

The highlight of my journey was seeing the IPs holding their babies for the first time, it was instant love!

Q. Do you have advice for women who are interested in becoming a gestational surrogate?

The hardest part of surrogacy is the waiting game. You have to be patient because things can move really slow in the beginning. But it is all worth it being able to help another family.

Q. What did you find was the biggest misconception people had about surrogacy?

Is that it’s hard to give the baby to its parents, when it’s actually the best part, you get to see a family that you helped grow.  It is a wonderful feeling knowing that you made it possible for them to achieve parenthood.

Q. What would you like other people to know about surrogacy?

That it isn’t easy but in the end, it’s all worth it. You will be proud that you were able to help another family.

Q. How has becoming a surrogate impacted your life?

I have been able to help 2 different families grow.  And with that, I have made not just new friends but we all consider each other family now.

Q. What did you do to prepare yourself for separating from the baby after it was born?

I didn’t have to do anything, I knew from the beginning the baby/babies weren’t mine and that they have loving parents waiting to meet them.
